Obama on Sunday called for unity after the Baton Rouge, La. shooting that left three police officers dead and more wounded.
Obama said this message is important especially now, as the Republican and Democratic conventions are gearing up and political rhetoric tends to be more overheated than usual.
People need to work together, Obama said, to reduce violence in communities across the country.
Obama noted that nothing justifies violence against law enforcement and said that justice will be done.
